Denmark has made strides in basketball in recent years but still lags behind neighboring Sweden, particularly in pathways to collegiate recruitment. To address this gap and build a stronger pathway for Danish players, Get Recruitment aims to identify and nurture talent early by targeting players at the Efterskole and Academy levels.
Get Recruitment, which began in Sweden four years ago, has already made a significant impact, helping over 50 players achieve their goal of advancing to the next level. The program has hosted more than 90 college and professional players at its Showcase events, and its alumni include athletes at every level, from the NBA to professional contracts across Europe.
By starting at the formative Efterskole stage, Get Recruitment will assist young Danish athletes in gaining visibility, and connecting with recruitment opportunities. The initiative supports these players by creating an online presence, high-quality training showcases, mentorship, and established connections to college scouts, particularly in the United States. By creating these early pathways, Get Recruitment aims to enhance the chances of Danish players reaching collegiate levels, fostering a more competitive talent pool and elevating Denmark’s standing in youth basketball on the international stage.
As part of its efforts, Get Recruitment is providing Danish Efterskole players with free professional player profiles—a critical step in establishing their online presence in the highly competitive world of collegiate recruitment. These profiles highlight each player’s skills, achievements, and potential, offering college coaches and scouts easy access to highlights, statistics, and key information. By helping players create professional, polished profiles, Get Recruitment enhances their visibility and credibility, ensuring they stand out in the eyes of potential recruiters. This online presence is invaluable, giving Danish players a competitive edge and opening doors to opportunities that might otherwise be out of reach.
Each profile is added to Get Recruitment’s Academy database, a powerful tool connecting young talent with college coaches. This database, currently viewed by over 100 subscribing college coaches, is rapidly expanding as more coaches join to scout emerging players. By giving Danish athletes access to this widely-viewed platform, Get Recruitment eliminates a significant barrier to international exposure and boosts their recruitment potential.
